In Maths we have been learning about Geometry particularly Symmetry. I made the one and only batman logo for the red and yellow bat its a real batman though. This is symmetrical because its like a mirror.

In Room 2 for our Math we had to finish our Math slides and my strategy for this problem was I skip counted in 2s and then added a 1 when there was a half a car.

In Room 2 we have been focusing on Environmental problem and how the affect the Earth. I did a writing piece about Oil Spills

 Oil spills are a bad thing for the environment because they are mostly in the sea and their very big container ships going through sea and 45% of the container ships fall and spill a lot and I mean A LOT! of oil and it kills a lot of the sea animals in and you might think its a good thing if its killing sharks and other deadly sea animals in the sea but its not because if it makes them go instinct and then it will be sad because they will never come back and other sea animals.

Iraqi forces intentionally released over 300 million gallons of oil into the Persian Gulf in 1991 as part of the offensive in the Gulf War.

This is how we can fix it less oil container ships going across the ocean or less oil for more balance for it doesn't fall over and for not much oil in the ocean if it does fall over.

I've been talking about oil spills and how it affects the sea animals and what's happened in the past and also how we can fix it.

African Drumming

On Tuesday Room 2 and the school went to the hall because there were African Drummers that were going to preform for us. Some people got picked to try out the drums, and I got picked. It was very fun because there were different things to do. All of them were awesome! 

They came from West Africa, and we got to sing one of their songs. It was very interesting.My favourite part of the African Drummers visit was listening to the music.

On Friday we went to the dump we got to hold worms, make their beds and use there pee to water plants and on the last thing was we wet newspaper and ripped it to make the beds for the worm.

When we got there we sat down to listen to the instructor to do the rest we learnt how to make compost. My favourite part was when i made the worms beds out of newspaper.

Emma Twigg Article

 Twigg Races across the water

 Emma Twigg won the finals in the Girls Single Sculls at the Tokyo Olympics on Friday.

¨I cant believe i actually  crossed the line really made me happy,i thought i would never get past the line”. Emma Twigg was in the front the whole time but in the end she must have used all her energy because after she was so puffed. 

Twigg started rowing in 2001 for Hawkes Bay Rowing Club and Napier Girls High School. Within two years she was representing New Zealand for the first time at the 2003 world Rowing Junior Championship in Athens, Greece as part of the women's eight. After two years in this boat class, Emma switched Junior Championships and placed 4th at the World Rowing U23.

In conclusion she's the best rower I know and can't wait to see her next year.

 When I play rugby or any sports I feel happy and after half time I feel exhausted but I keep on going.

The Boy Who Has Wings

 The boy who has wing is about a boy name Jack and he has to find water to make his apple trees that his grandmother planted so he goes on a adventure. To look for lots of water to make his trees live again so goes across the ocean storm and thin gets to a desert and faces a desert storm and... THEN! it went black.

Then he woke up and saw some goats and followed them to a shepherds barn and got some hot tea then got on his way to a castle and got sent to jail then he made a achievement befriends a rat and found keys then escaped and got back home and when he was in jail he herd that his rock had water under it so he got back to his apple trees and pushed his rock then water came spraying out from beneath the rock then his apple trees grow again.

book review

 Title:billionaire boy     

  Have you ever wondered what it would be like to have a million pounds? or a trillion? 

Or even a gazillion? Meet Joe spud.
  

The  author is David Williams and  the illustrator is  Tony Ross. He has  lots of  books like  Demon Dentist , BIllionaire Boy and Gangsta Granny 


  There are lots of charters but these are the three main ones. Joe, Mr Spud, and Bob.   

Joe is rich. Joe used to go to a private school but now he goes to a normal school, he's got one friend who has the nickname Blob. 

Mr Spud is Joe's dad, they were poor but then he became rich, so rich that they would blow their noses with their money. Mr Spud lives in a mansion. 

Bob (also known as blob) is poor but he LOVES chocolate and he is Joe's only friend…

My favourite character is Bob because he was really nice and wasn't bossy like Joe was.

I rate this book 4 stars out of 5 because I thought this book was great but the end wasn't the best for me because when they became poor their life turned upside down. I think that this book is for ages 5+.

In conclusion you should go to your library and find the book now!                                                                                               

Refugee walk

At (NBC) New Brighton Catholic School the senior syndicate went on a walk in the red zone. We pretended that we were refugees and did fun activities. The first activity was building shelters. We had to get tarp and rope and tie up the shelters but before we did that we did we had rice. We also had an experience at the border where two teachers were speaking different languages. I don't think I would like to be a refugee because it would be hard and you might not have much food.

In room 2 we have been learning about limericks. A limerick is a 5 row poem number 1 2 5 have to rhyme and 3 4 need to rhyme to but rhyme with a different word.

There once was a boy named Bart, who did a fart and blew up Kmart, 

he ran into a pole, and then fell in a hole, and that was the end of Bart!

My favourite moment was playing with my friends. Playing spotlight was great because I had lots of fun.

In my bunk room I had lots of my friends. The most challenging moment was when i had to do the dishes, because it was hard.

My favourite meal was homemade pizza, because it was sooooo good.
